Augarten, Vienna

The Augarten is a park which was used by the royal family as a hunting ground and then opened to the public in 1775. There was a palace built there and this now houses a museum as well as other buildings. There are also other buildings in the park including a large monument and an anti-aircraft tower. There is an open air cinema in the gardens as well which is very popular as well as a recreation area to play games and green areas to relax. A great place where tourists and locals mix when the sun starts to shine.
